A New Layout for a New Me

Welcome back! I haven't touched this blog in nearly two years, and understandably, I have changed (hopefully for the better) a lot in that time. Besides the obvious changes (my appearance, my mental stamina or lack thereof, my major-- bioE, baby!), I think I'm finally maturing into the sophisticated, strong-minded woman I've always aspired to be.

So what has happened since those first few months of freshman year? Besides the drama, excitement, and letdowns that are common to everyone's 'college experience,' my biggest accomplishment is that I now FINALLY know what I'm doing with my life. I was never 100% sure about EECS, and when I finally changed over to Bioengineering, it was if a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders. Sure, I enjoyed  coding in high school and for the occassional 61-series project, but not to the extent that I wouldn't mind living in a cubicle for the rest of my life, eyes glued to the computer screen. Bioengineering  was another major I had considered when applying to Cal, but at that time I wasn't sure what career opportunities it offered that EECS could not. Now I know-- a sense of sanity, at least, plus the fact that biotechnology is one of the fastest growing fields these days. Sorry you Microsoft lovers, Genentech is where it's at.

Updates on my life:

*Indus party @ Blue Cube = awesome experience. I wanna find my Ramdayl!

*I'm the social chair for Hall Association! You know what that means... *balle, balle*

*SatRang Exec... I'm apparently their tech director, which is kinda cool-- got to have some bonding time w/ my upper class buddies, right?

*Bhangra-- the highlight of my life. Practices are an hour long, only once a week... JOIN people, JOIN! We can take as many people as can fit into my apartment/dorm for rehearsals!

*Ugh, I have so much homework to do...

I feel bad for not writing anything substantial on Xanga, but I seriously don't have the time. I'll try my best to, though :)

Mwahaha, Arjun's winning!

* * *

I'm coordinating a bhangra routine for Satrang. ALL OF YOU MUST JOIN!

Indus party-- who's wearing what? I really hope Ripple can pull off our little 'plan,' b/c I'm not going to take that 10:30 bus back to Berkeley if I can't get in!

Joint b-day party w/ Abe-- keep the second weekend of October free!
